Today, everything has changed. With today's high-tech vehicles, the margin for error is dramatically smaller and cost of error is much higher, so it makes financial sense to protect your investment in your vehicle through the maintenance and service performed by qualified professionals.

Contrary to popular opinion, the automotive trade is not compulsory trade in many parts of North America - it certainly is not in British Columbia. This means that anyone can open and run the auto repair shop without a certified automotive technician on staff.

Another certification authority exists and it is called ASE. ASE Certification can be identified by a blue equipment in the form of logo with the letters ASE njemu.ASE the same standard, but there are two advantages to it: it requires re-certification every five years and it is voluntary, ie, those techs who want to write the exam demonstrate a strong commitment to the profession which is above and beyond the average and that the commitment to keep pace with changes in technology. Furthermore, employers who support their efforts to become a technician certified can be counted on to care about other aspects of your business.
